Week 2

Monday 29/8

• Waffle 17:00 - 19:00
  We will gather in front of our union house to have waffles together and chat!

• Dance time! 19:00 - 20:00
  Did you know that each academic year in Uppsala has its own dance and song? You will see literally hundreds of students dancing the dance to their reception year's song! Does that sound cool? Then join us and learn this year's dance!

• Game night 20:00 - 23:00
  Wanna join us for a board game and hang-out night? Bring snacks if you want.

• Party at TD's tent 22:00 - 01:00
  We have been invited to another receptions party-tent! We will join them to party!
  There is going to be another tent close by for students who would like to talk and chill rather than dance and party.
  Event place: Outside Ångström, at the grass area between house 6 & 8
  
  Important! It's not allowed to bring your own alcohol to the tent! And you will need a wristband from MER to enter.
  
  

Tuesday 30/8

• Buying tickets for the Final party and songbooks 12:00 - 13:00
  You can visit us at the union house to buy a ticket for the final gasque in the tent. You will have a chance to buy a songbook as well.
  You will notice soon how much swedes love singing during their gasques. You might not know the songs that will be sung so it is always a good idea to have a songbook with yourself while attending a Swedish gasque. Writing in each other's songbooks as a memory or a funny joke is a student tradition here in Uppsala.

• Campus tour 16:00 - 18:00
  It can get tricky to find the exact place of the print room or micro room when you are new to the campus. Why not go around the campus together? There are different tours to all 4 campuses; Ångström, BMC, Geo, and EBC

• City Rally 18:00 - 22:00
  Would you like to solve puzzles to visit important places in Uppsala and get to know more about them? It is a fun events to join with friends and compete in a group!

Friday 2/9

• Final gasque at the tent! 18:00 - 22:00
  Gasques is a long-lived student tradition in Uppsala. We will eat dinner together, sing songs and talk to your newfound friends. It is the best way to end your week and get ready for your new chapter of life. Make sure to buy the tickets for the event.
  
  The gasque starts at 18:30, so come before that.
  Important! It's not allowed to bring your own alcohol to the tent! And you will need a wristband from MER to enter.

• Sign up for the nations and the UTN 13:00 - 16:00
  Sign up for Uppsala Teknolog och Naturvetarkår, in enligsh; Uppsala Union of Engineering and Science Students. We will gather together in our union house, Uthgård, to sign up for the student organizations and help each other out with the process and other question. The sign-up for the union is free!

• Quiz and game night 18:00 - 22:00
  Hang out together, play games, do a fun quiz about Sweden, and do lots of other things. Does it sound fun? Then join us and let's have a great time together.

Thursday 25/8

• Second-hand shops tour 12:00 - 18:00
  Did you know that Sweden is one of the leading countries in sustainability? And second-hand shops play an important role. You will be surprised at the quality, the price, and of course the weirdness of the stuff that you can find there! Take a photo of the weirdest thing you can find!

  We will be at the starting location until 14:00 and handing out maps for the tours!
  
  
• Swedishness & Cultural adjustment, digital lecture 13:00 - 13:45
  The Student health service at Uppsala University is arranging this digital lecture, with a panel including international students discussing questions like "What's up with all the cues?" and "How is dating life in Sweden?".

• MFK's section night 17:30 - 22:00
  MFK (Matemathics, Physics, and Chemistry) is another reception committee that arranges a reception for those 3 mentioned programs at the bachelor level. It is an event highly recommended for the students who will start their studies in one of the following programs:
  Master of Science in Chemistry, Master's Programme in Analytical Chemistry, Master of Science in Physics, Master's Programme in Computational Science, Master's Programme in Materials Science, Master of Science in Mathematics

• Pub at TD's tent 22:00 - 01:00
  We have been invited to another receptions party-tent! This night there will be a chill pub rather than a party-night.

Friday 26/8

• Uppsala university's welcome reception 11:30 - 14:30
  This is a formal welcome ceremony by the Uppsala university to welcome new students. Starting with a welcome speech in the Grand Auditorium together with beautiful music. This is followed by an exhibition with student accossiations and important functions. You can find all the information here.
  We will also be there to show you the right way.

• Outdoor activities and Picnic 17:00 - 22:00
  Who wants to enjoy the beautiful Swedish weather and environment? Let's gather together to picnic and play some Swedish outdoor games such as Kubb and Bränboll. Bring your own food, drinks and snacks! A blanket to sit on is also good to have.
  As we say in Sweden, "There are no bad weather, only bad clothes!" But check the website for updates. :)

Saturday 27/8

• Sting fair 10:00 - 15:30
  Sting fair is a great place where you will have a chance to talk to most of the sections, UTN committees, and other Uppsala organizations. It is one of the events that is highly suggested to attend to get a grasp of what events will happen in the future and how you can take part in them.

• Nation night!
  We would highly encourage you to meet up with your friends to go and experience a night at a nation. We in MER will not orgnize a meet-up for this event.
